About Peter

Peter Waldkirch 華彼德 is a leader in Vancouver's urbanism community

Born and raised in Vancouver, Peter is a leading voice in Vancouver's pro-housing and urbanist community whose advocacy inspires people to step up and get involved.

After studying music at VCC, UBC, and McGill, Peter studied law and graduated at the top of his class. Returning home, almost all his friends and peers had been priced out of the city. After seeing how fiercely even the smallest change to the status quo was fought, he knew he had to speak up.

Peter uses his passion, authenticity, and humour to connect with people about the importance of local government. His advocacy ranges from organizing participation at City Hall, to being frequently asked to comment on housing issues in the media, to playing an accordion at a public hearing. In 2025 he completed a Master of Laws degree from UBC on housing law and policy.

Now Peter is taking his fight for a more affordable and fair Vancouver to city hall--but he needs your help!
